As we all know, Firefox will save the values you type in a form. Then, Firefox will provide a drop down list of previously entered values for form fields that you have completed and submitted in the past. Today, I mistyped my username in a form causing Firefox to store an incorrect value in my form history. So every time I go to enter my username, the wrong username shows up in my drop down list. After much searching, I have finally discovered how to delete individual values from the saved form history in firefox. No extension or anything is required.
Here’s what you do:
- Navigate Firefox to the form containing the field that has a saved value that you want to delete.
- Click on the text field to that your cursor is in the text field with the value you want to delete.
- Press the down arrow on your keyboard until the bad value is highlighted.
- Press Shift+Delete together and the value will be removed from the saved form history.
This discovery has brought me much joy as, previously, the only way I knew to get rid of a saved form value was to delete my entire form history. Now you can delete values one at a time.
